If slaughterhouses had glass walls – 2nd conditional (vocabulary)
The second conditional is used when we talk about situations that are not real, but we want to imagine our own or someone else’s bevaviour in such situations in the present or in general. Paul McCartney once speculated that if slaughterhouses had glass walls everybody would be vegetarian. He clearly believed that slaughterhouses didn’t have glass walls and knew that not everybody was vegetarian (far from it actually).
Let’s do some imagining about issues surrounding the exploitation of animals. Choose the right word to fill the gaps.
